This once in a lifetime cycling tour under the Midnight Sun will see you travelling through the length of the Finnish Lapland, through to Norway and all the way to North Cape - the northernmost point of Europe.This tour is demanding and is suitable for regular cyclists as it takes in between 30 - 62 miles per day. You will encounter spectacular, changing scenery along the way and enjoy the 'white' nights of the midsummer, during which the sun does not set in the Arctic regions.Your cycling tour will end at the North Cape - from here transfers are provided to the traditional Lappish village of Luosto, where you will have two days to spend at leisure to end your stay in Lapland.There are a variety of activities available at Luosto - or spend a couple days just relaxing, enjoying the Arctic scenery.

Day 1

Arrival at Rovaniemi airport and transfers to your accommodation at the Arctic Circle Hotel. Evening dinner will be enjoyed at the hotel restaurant, where you will meet your guide and the rest of the group to discuss the tour ahead.Why not try a sauna to end the day! Accommodation in hotel rooms with private facilities (twin share basis).

Day 2

Route: Suomu - Kemijarvi (approximately 42 miles)

We will begin our tour by cycling along well maintained tarmac roads, stopping en route for a rest and a campfire lunch in the woods by a lake. Our destination today is Kemijarvi, where we will be accommodated overnight in a comfortable and peaceful Holiday Centre. There is a lake for swimming within a walking distance and also an indoor pool and a sauna. Dinner will be enjoyed at the accommodation. Accommodation in private rooms (twin share basis) with shared facilities (toilets and showers in the hall).

Day 3

Route:Kemijarvi - Pelkosenniemi (approx. 30 miles)

We continue our journey North, cycling along well maintained tarmac roads.We will stop for a rest and a traditional campfire lunch on the shores of a forest river. We will then continue towards our overnight stop in the beautiful countryside, where we will be accommodated in comfortable apartments.Tonight we will enjoy a Gourmet dinner at our accommodation.There is a sauna available for those who wish. Fishing trips and nature treks are also available in the surrounding area. Accommodation in comfortable apartments in private rooms (twin share basis) with shared facilities (toilets and showers in the hall)

Day 4

Route: Pelkosenniemi - Sodankyla (approx. 35 miles)

After breakfast we will continue our journey through the Lappish countryside, cycling mainly along tarmac roads. We are heading towards Sodankyla, where we will spend overnight, stopping for a rest and traditional campfire lunch en route.Accommodation will be in comfortable hotel rooms. Here you can also do some shopping in the village if you wish. Evening dinner will be served at the hotel restaurant and there is a sauna for those who wish. Accommodation in comfortable hotel rooms with private facilities (twin share basis)

Day 5

Route: Sodankyla - Vuotso (50 - 56 miles)

After breakfast we will continue cycling along tarmac roads. Our destination today is Vuotso, close to the Tankavaara Gold Village, one of the best known tourist attractions in Lapland. Tankavaara Gold Museum is the only international museum in the world displaying the past and present of gold panning and prospecting. Here you can take the opportunity to visit the museum, or just enjoy the surrounding countryside. We will spend overnight in a comfortable cabin. Dinner will be prepared by our guide in the evening and there is a sauna available for those who wish. Accommodation in private rooms with shared facilities (twin share basis)

Day 6

Route:Vuotso - Saariselka (25 - 30 miles)

After breakfast we continue our journey towards the Saariselka area of Lapland - cycling along well maintained tarmac roads.A stop will be made en route to enjoy some lunch by a campfire.Today we are heading towards our overnight stop, located adjacent to a National Park. Here you can enjoy additional activities such as Nordic Walking.Alternatively, just relax for the evening in this quality accommodation.There is a gym and sauna available at the hotel. Dinner will be enjoyed at the hotel restaurant. Accommodation in good quality hotel rooms with private facilities (twin share basis)

Day 7

Route: Saariselka - Inari (45 - 50 miles)

After breakfast we will continue further North. Today we will cycle along well maintained tarmac roads, stopping for a campfire lunch en route. Our destination is Inari - an area well known for its Sámi heritage. This far up North, the landscape is noticeably different, trees become smaller and the landscape is barren. This area is great for fishing or canoeing, especially under the midnight sun - while the sun shines through the night. Dinner will be enjoyed at the hotel restaurant. There is a riverfront sauna available at the hotel. Accommodation in comfortable hotel rooms with private facilities (twin share basis)

Day 8

Route: Inari - Karigasniemi (50 - 62 miles)

After breakfast we continue our journey towards the Norwegian border. Cycling along the very north of the Finnish Lapland along well maintained tarmac roads,we are heading towards the banks of the Tenojoki River. A lunch stop will be made en route in 'true' Lapland, amongst beautiful fell scenery.After a rest,we will continue cycling until we reach the beautiful setting of our overnight accommodation on the banks of the river. This is a perfect spot for some fishing for those who have energy left - the area is the one of the best Salmon rivers in Europe! The river is also good for canoeing, suitable for beginners. Day 9

Route: Karigasniemi - Stabbursdalen (approx. 62 miles)

After breakfast we will continue our journey - crossing over to Norway.We will cycle along well maintained tarmac roads, towards our overnight stop in an idyllic location on the Stabburselva river. A stop for lunch and a rest will be made along the way. Our cabin accommodation today is located close to a Norwegian National Park, which contains the northernmost Pine Forest in the world.This area is also well known for its rivers rich in fish - Salmon and Sea Trout.We will enjoy evening dinner at our accommodation. Day 10

Route: Stabbursdalen - Repvåg (approximately 62 miles)

After breakfast we will continue cycling along well maintained tarmac roads further North.We will make a stop for lunch and a rest along the way.The scenery this far North, in the Finmark region, is barren and the last snow on the hills remains throughout the year. Our overnight stop today is in a genuine reconstructed fishing wharf, here you will experience the Northern Norwegian coastal culture and atmosphere! We will enjoy our dinner in a charming Maritime restaurant, where you will be able to sample some fish specialities and traditional local dishes. Day 11

Route: Repvåg - Honningsvåg (approximately 30 miles)

After breakfast we continue on our last leg of the journey that will take us to Honningsvåg and the North Cape - the end of the road, you cannot go any further! We will be transferred via a tunnel from Repvåg to Honningsvåg, the world's northernmost village. From here we will continue cycling some 22 miles to North Cape.The North Cape itself is an enormous rock with a steep wall from the Arctic Ocean below - here we will admire the midnight sun. There is a restaurant, a bar and a shopping area available.Transfers from North Cape back to the North Cape Tourist Hotel where we will stay overnight. Dinner will be enjoyed in a local restaurant. Day 12

After breakfast we will have some time to explore Honnignsvag, a lively town and fishing harbour, after which we will say goodbye to Northern Norway. We will now pack up our bicycles, transfers have been arranged to take us to the Finnish Lapland village of Luosto. We will stop for lunch along the way. Our accommodation in the village of Luosto is in traditional log wood cabins in this idyllic location next to a National Park. Evening meal will be enjoyed at the atmospheric local log wood restaurant. Accommodation in traditional log wood cabins with private facilities (twin share basis)

Day 13

A day at leisure to spend in the village of Luosto.

You can continue cycling in the locality, visit the National Park, or choose a variety of activities provided in the surrounding area.These include horse riding, canoeing, boating, fishing,mushroom and berry picking. Lunch and dinner are provided in the local log wood restaurant. Accommodation in traditional log wood cabins with private facilities (twin share basis)

Day 14

A day at leisure to spend in the village of Luosto.

Continue to explore the vicinity of the picturesque Luosto village,why not visit the Amethyst Mine - the only operating Amethyst Mine in Europe.Alternatively, take a day trip to Rovaniemi, the Capital of Lapland. Lunch and dinner are provided in the local log wood restaurant. In the evening, why not enjoy a sauna at your cabin. Accommodation in traditional log wood cabins with private facilities (twin share basis)

Day 15

After breakfast, transfers back to Rovaniemi airport for your flight back to UK.
